New morning Zoom classes are planned for Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from November. They can be joined from home and are designed to make regular practice easier to fit into your week. These sessions focus on exercises and practice rather than learning the Tai Chi form.
Simple exercises and movements from Tai Chi, Yiquan and Qigong, focusing on movement, mobility, balance, coordination and overall health and wellbeing.
Guided practice of Zhan Zhuang, following the health postures taught in Yiquan and popularised in the UK by Master Lam Kam Chuen, with whom I studied directly for several years. Master Lam introduced this method of standing practice to a wider audience through the Channel 4 series Stand Still, Be Fit and his book The Way of Energy.
You can start with just a few seconds in each posture, gradually build up and rest whenever necessary. All of the postures can also be practised seated.
From November, Starter membership is £45 per month and gives you access to all Practise-Taiji Starter classes, providing greater flexibility over where and when you practise, as well as the option to attend more than once a week.
Individual classes can also be booked and paid for in advance. Please see Membership & Costs for full details.
